The second and third career i researched was cosmetologists, manicurist and pedicurist. A cosmetologist provides beauty services, such as shampooing, cutting, coloring, and styling hair, and massaging and treating scalp. They may also apply makeup. To become one you need to have training in vocational schools, related on the job experience, associates degree, mechanical/manipulative.The work environment of a cosmetologist is primarily indoors and in one location. And also in a small place. The average salary they earn is $13,400 to $20,610 to $37,380 +. A manicurist and pedicurist provide nail work, they do nail technicians clean, shaping, polishing fingernails and toe nails. They groom cuticles and apply cream to hands and arms. Some knowledge necessary to be a manicurist and pedicurist is you need to be helping/teaching, high school graduate. Most manicurist and pedicurist work 5 days a week, and sometimes they work Saturdays. The average salary they earn is $113,640 to $18,280 to $130,820 +. Out of these two careers i think a cosmetologist would fit me better because i feel like i have more skills in hair and makeup then into nails. The steps i would need to take to be a cosmetologist is take art in high school. Get training in vocational schools.
